Garden of
Plaza de la Pau
A corner of peace
The Plaza de la Pau or Plaza de la Paz was built in the mid-twentieth century and its name refers to the peace and tranquility that is breathed in it.
During the 1950s, the town of Santa Eulària experienced significant economic and demographic growth, which led to the construction of numerous infrastructures and public buildings. In this context, it was decided to build a square that would serve as a meeting and coexistence place for the city’s inhabitants.
The Plaza de la Pau was designed by the architect Juan de Haro, who was inspired by the urban planning models of the time to create a large and luminous space, surrounded by trees and green areas. At present, it is a place very frequented by the inhabitants of the city and the tourists who visit the area, and it is considered one of the most emblematic places of Santa Eulària des Riu.
